We don't order from Viva very often, as we like to keep it as an extra special treat for special occasions. The food is usually delivered piping hot, on time, full of flavour and very tender. This is the first time that we've received substandard food. We were going to order last Thursday, but we'd forgotten what time they closed and left it too late to order. After checking their opening times, we were prepared to order on Sunday afternoon. At 2pm on Sunday, our order was ready to checkout but suddenly a notice popped up to inform us that the restaurant was now closed and no longer taking orders. (It had been snowing overnight, which probably influenced their decision to close early). Third time 'lucky', we ordered on Tuesday evening for a 5pm delivery. Our food arrived at about 5:15pm, steaming hot with a fabulous aroma. Spaghetti Bolognaise 9/10 Contadina spaghetti 5/10 - the spaghetti and sauce were excellent but the chicken was firm and chewy, with an unusual flavor along with a hard grayish layer. Pollo Kiev with chips 4/10 - the chips were ok but the Kiev didn't have much flavour. Half of the chicken was dryer than usual but edible, the other half (all along one side) was hard, with a grayish colour underneath a thick, hard layer of 'almost burnt' breadcrumb. It was so hard, with such a colour that i thought it was bone. If we'd been served with this as customers dining in the restaurant, we would've sent those 2 dishes back and requested replacements.

Beautiful, fresh and hot food. Portion sizes were amazing and the delivery was quick. The delivery driver was polite and chatty. I was disappointed to see that the early bird specials do not apply when ordering online for delivery however, this absolutely did not affect our meal. We look forward to coming to the restaurant for a meal.

Really wish i could leave more than 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ We've never had anything except top quality food for every order. The chicken kiev is always tender, moist and full of flavor. The chips are a really deep/dark colour but in no way are they overcooked. It confuses me that they look "well done" and yet they're wonderful, soft and full of flavor (like everything else on the menu). I can honestly say that i have never tasted a nicer Chicken kiev than the ones from Viva. Viva is definitely on the higher end of the price scale for a "takeaway" but they are serving restaurant quality food with good portion sizes, freshly cooked to order, perfectly seasoned and delivered to your door piping hot. This order was delivered exactly on time, as are most orders, although they were extremely busy when we ordered a few weeks ago and it took 45 minutes longer than expected. The food is definitely worth the wait if they're busier than usual. It would be nice if they sliced the pizza before sending it for delivery and it would be quite nice/useful if all takeaways started to offer a "sample" menu item for a small charge. (I have quite a restrictive 'diet' due to health reasons and would like to try new/different items from time to time but without the cost of ordering a full size meal. Paying £1-2 for a small sample along with placing a normal order would be really useful) We cannot praise Viva enough for their amazing food and service.
